纳米科学 is the fabrication, 描述, and application of extremely small 材料 (1-100 nanometers) with new or improved properties. The 纳米科学 program produces students who are ready to attend the most competitive graduate programs in nanoscience, 材料, or other sciences; to join cutting-edge corporate R&D in some of the most important and profitable industries in the world, such as information technology, 通信, 能源, 药物开发, 成像, and environmental technology; and who possess the scientific knowledge and entrepreneurial preparation to create their own start-up companies. 学生 also receive a broad training across the physical and life sciences, and undergraduate re搜索 is a key element of the program.
